Breath Style : Tonglen Breath
Breath is the common denominator for all beings. Despite our individual experiences in life, the shared experience of breathing shows that we are all ultimately equal. Each being's suffering and wellbeing is as worthy of our attention, love and healing energy as our own. This class is a series of writing prompts and breath practices, specifically the Tibetan Buddhist Tonglen Breath, that facilitate a shift in our focus from the self to the collective. This practice tunes us into our shared humanity, creative expression and ability to metabolize and alchemize suffering into something beautiful, meaningful and helpful.
